SASF is a two form entry Voluntary Aided Church of England School situated just off
the High Road in Willesden. The school serves the local area, and as such the profile of children on roll reflects the changing nature of Willesden.
Historically families who attended St. Andrew’s Church also attended the school. There are a number of children on roll, whose parents also attended the school in the past.
It is custom for our children to attend Church throughout the year, including Harvest, St. Andrew’s Day, Christmas, Easter, end of year leavers celebration; school is only about 5 minutes walk from the Church.
The parish mass on Friday mornings is part of our school assembly programme. This includes the full Eucharist. We have a number of children who are preparing for their first communion or who have been confirmed and who take communion. The Parish Priest leads confirmation classes in school, during our school time. This is very successful and has strengthened links between Church and school.
The school staff are fantastic. They work tirelessly as a team and have a strong commitment to supporting children, both academically and in developing their sense of spiritual, social and personal well being. Many live within walking distance of school. Although not all staff are Christian, all staff are asked to (and indeed do) uphold the Christian Ethos of our School.
Each class has its own lunchtime grace and end of day prayer.
School assemblies include Christian prayers and songs.
We also have close links with the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS). The current Parish Priest is our Vice-Chair of Governors, and is an active member of the Governing Body. The Church also appoints Foundation Governors to the Governing Body. Links between St. Andrew’s Church and SASF school are an important part of the school.
We pray that these continue to strengthen.

Bramley class presented a mass based on the life of St. Patrick on Friday 14th March. Did you know he was born in Englad and was taken to Ireland to be a slave as a young boy?
He later returned as an ordained bishop and brought the word of God to Ireland.
Patrick used the symbol of a shamrock to show the three persons of God - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
Priory class presented Jesus' parable of the 2 houses.
The wise man built his house upon the rocks and the foolish man built his house upon the sand.
We should build our faith on strong foundations, like the wise man, or in times of trouble our faith will crumble like the house of the foolish man.
